Yes, those were heroic days, days of battle and glorious deeds
I still remember the king of the old empire, before his son succeeded his father
The wealthy city of Rimsheim, a thorn in the side of the newcrowned king
finally was to be brought to heel by his Majesty's own troops, in which I myself did serve
The city was said to be guarded by men with arcane skills and powers
They were known as The Bretheren, supporting the ten thousand regular troops
expected to gather against us
And so we set out on our march, at the end of which a horrible fate was awaiting
Twenty abreast and a thousand a line, all full of pride and determined to win
On the fourth night we foresaw battle, from our camps we could see fires
Someone said it was the priests of Eruloth making evil sacrifice, but they were left alone...
We entered the windlashed cliffs of southern Horst where the Kazors, the ancient people,
were said to have made their pact with the dreaded knights of Myrnians Hold
Passing through the land we met and joined
Twelve thousand heavy infantry from Horst
We started marching northbound once again.
The pipes and drums of war did make us fierce.
An impressive sight so seldom seen,
rank by rank of metal's shine and gleam... Oh yes indeed!
Our boots had grinded soil for weeks,
when the grey valleys of Takea
opened up the cliffs, and far away,
we could see the misty mountaintops of Skade
where the ancient Monastary of Gorad
lay in stillness on a desolate
peak.
And, there below, were the legions of Rimsheim...
